Job Summary: The Appraisal Clerk is responsible for reviewing, verifying and processing the appraisal requests according to AIR regulations and GEM policy and procedures as well as review and process the FHA case numbers from the FHA Connection for Government loans. The Appraisal Clerk is also responsible for the retrieval and processing of the completed appraisal report according  AIR, ECOA regulations and GEM policy, uploading the conventional appraisal to the UCDP portal and the imaged folder as well as logging the completed appraisal report into the FHA Connection for FHA loans.


Essential Job Functions:

  1. Appraisal ordering by rotation for Conventional, FHA, VA and USDA appraisals according to AIR and FHA Appraiser Independence regulations
  2. Maintain Appraiser roster
  3. Process completed appraisal reports according to AIR, ECOA and FHA Appraiser Independence regulations.
  4. Retrieve FHA case assignments for FHA loans according to FHA guidelines
  5. Coordinate with branches on any appraisal issues related to investor guidelines or exclusionary lists.
  6. Act as liaison between our branches and the appraisers, related to any value reconsideration requests or appraisal corrections.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

FLSA status - Non-Exempt


Minimum Requirements:


High School Diploma/GED, at least one year of experience in the Mortgage industry and at least 2 years clerical experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Abilities Required:


  1. Knowledge of appraisal principles, practices, regulations and procedures related to AIR and FHA Appraiser Independence.
  2. Skill in problem solving issues as they arise and escalating them to management when necessary.
  3. Skill in both verbal and written communication.
  4. Knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Word.
