Job Summary:

Corporate Underwriting Team Lead will work closely with the Underwriters and Jr. Underwriters on the flow of the day-to-day work of the Corporate Underwriting Department.


FLSA Status: Exempt


Essential job functions

  1. Assist Corporate Underwriters with solutions to problems on loan issues – utilizing critical thinking and providing outside-the-box ideas


  1. Support Corporate Underwriters with product, guideline and system questions or issues



  1. Assist with training of Corporate Underwriters on additional/new products and/or guidelines



  1. Support the staff working the Underwriting Scenario Desk with product and guideline questions or issues, when needed



  1. Escalations to Sr. Team Lead on file questions, borrower qualifying issues and guideline questions



  1. Communicate with Branches as necessary, with questions on files, when applicable



  1. Review files for decline when the Underwriter recommends and review the MCR FHA files



  1. Assist the Jr. Underwriter’s with questions on conditions or a rework



  1. Assist with any other tasks required within the scope of the Corporate Underwriting Department as requested by Corporate Underwriting Manager


Minimum requirements

High School Diploma/GED, Minimum 5 years underwriting experience of Conventional FNMA/FHLMC.   Must have FHA DE and VA designations.

  1. Good oral and written communication skills
  2. Multi task
  3. Excellent organizational skills
